Commercial and Institutional DesignJ Duggan and Associates has been involved in numerous Commercial and Institutional Projects over the last thirty years. These projects have ranged from simple landscape plans to fill local code requirements to Master Plans of major Commercial Sites and Campuses As in Community Design, our strength lies in working with the land, fitting projects onto the site, not the other way around. We create an identity for the overall project , through development of public and private spaces and a coherent vocabulary of site amenities unique to the community. We believe in the team approach working with other consultants in order to address all the needs of the project. We add to this team because we see things from a different viewpoint, through a different ‘lens’ We see things not as engineers, contractors, developers, real estate brokers, investors etc. but as Landscape Architects and planners. We see the whole picture. We can also help you to visualize and present proposed solutions through strong graphics; sketches, drawings and 3d modeling. We make the process easy to use and friendly through personal interaction and the Internet. Our Principal, Joseph Duggan, in addition to having a degree in Planning from Rutgers University, was a member of the Town of Front Royal planning commission for twelve years, being chairman during his last year. Experience includes participation in the development of the Town Master Plan, transportation plan, numerous subdivision layouts, commercial and residential site plans, and municipal projects, along with adoption of numerous ordinances and amendments. Mr. Duggan was also a member of Architectural Review Board for two years. This experience included review of architectural and landscape architectural designs for conformance with code and working with applicants in helping them to meet that code. The experiences mentioned above have provided knowledge of the workings of local governments. Mr. Duggan has a unique perspective of having been on both sides of the fence regarding the government review process for Projects. He uses this experience while representing client’s projects to planning commissions, Town Councils, etc. Mr. Duggan also makes it a point to keep informed regarding the growth, environmental and visual concerns of local government in order to address them in both designs for and presentations to them. Only recently the Firm received the Presidents Award from Christendom College, an award usually reserved to major benefactors of the College, for the firms creative solutions and in its commitment to going the extra distance to help the college reach it’s goals, this is mentioned to bring attention to the results our clients can expect from our firm.
